The record grows because people share what they know
Photographs, memories, place names, recipes, corrections — all of it matters, and all of it is credited.

Rights, consent and sensitivity
A few commitments we ask of every contributor.
What we ask you to confirm
- You own the material, or you have permission from the person who does.
- People clearly identifiable in photographs have agreed to publication.
- You will tell us if material is culturally sensitive or should not be mapped.
- You accept that your contribution may be edited for clarity and credited.
What we commit to
- Crediting you in the form you choose, including anonymously.
- Never selling contributed material or licensing it for advertising.
- Withdrawing material on request where rights allow.
- Marking uncertain material as provisional rather than guessing.
